While studying at Indiana University I worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for the Indiana Daily Student and the IU Division of Student Affairs. At the IDS, my duties included designing, editing, and proofing advertisements for both print and web applications. In addition to working on the daily ad flow, myself and the rest of the creative staff worked on freelance design projects. While working for the IDS, I won several design and illustration awards.
Previously, I worked as the art director for 812 Magazine: The Magazine of Southern Indiana. As the art director, I oversaw the design and layout of the entire Winter/Spring 2016 issue. My other duties included photography, photo editing, reporting, writing, and researching for stories. The Indiana Chapter of The Society of Professional Journalists awarded my design 1st Place in the “Student Best Design Other Than Cover” category.
After graduating, I landed a job as a graphic-web designer at NUVO in Indianapolis. I worked on the print issue, our website, designed marketing materials and ad campaigns, and improved our Instagram account. Unfortunately, like countless other local papers across the United States, NUVO had to cease its print publication in February of 2019. Due to downsizing, I had to be let go. Since then, I've been working as a freelancer and searching for a full time job.
